Full Description

The Tithe Map for Challacombe depicts a large building at SS 6879 4042, with several small enclosures around it. It is labelled 702, which the Apportionment describes as "Glebe: House and Outhouses", owned and occupied by the Reverend William Henry Carwithin. The adjacent parcels are described as court or gardens. [1] The building is shown on the 25 inch 2st Edition Ordnance Survey map, with some outbuildings to the northwest and within an area of enclosures and landscaping. It is labelled "Rectory." [2] The building is shown on the 2021 MasterMap data. It is labelled "The Old Rectory". [3]
