Full Description

The Tithe Map for Timberscombe depicts a rectangular building at SS 9433 4132, within a small enclosure labelled 29. The site is labelled "PITT". The Apportionment describes this as "Bickham Estate: Cott & garden" [cottage and garden], owned by the Hon. Peter John Locke King and occupied by John Risdon. [1] The building is shown on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map and is labelled "Pitt Cottages". [2] The building is no longer shown on the 2021 MasterMap data, with some alteration to the layout of the field boundaries in this area. [3]
