Full Description

A mirrored pair of semidetached cottages are shown on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map at SS 9238 4534. They appear to have matching extensions to the rear and on either side (east and west). A pump is also labelled to the rear (north) of the property. [1] The buildings are similarly shown on the 2nd Edition map. [2] The buildings are labelled 1 (east) and 2 (west), Blackford Cottage. They are still shown as an apparently mirrored pair, although their plan form has been altered. [3] The buildings are not shown on the Tithe Map for Selworthy. They appear to have replaced a cottage that was depicted to the west (MEM24923), which had been removed by the time the 1st Edition map was surveyed . [4]
