Full Description

The 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map depicts two earthworks abutting the northern side of the road at SS 8324 4649 and SS 8345 4648. The latter is larger and is labelled "quarry". [1] The features are depicted but not labelled on the 25 inch 2nd Edition map, suggesting the eastern feature had passed out of use. [2] The features are not depicted on 2018 MasterMap data. A track passes through / past the site of the eastern quarry. [3]
