Full Description
The common is depicted and labelled on the Tithe Map for Challacombe. It is within land parcel 226, which was described as "Common Lands" owned by the Earl Hugh Fortescue. [1] The area had been subdivided by the time the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map was surveyed. The area is no longer labelled Westland Common at this time. [2]
