Full Description

The 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map depicts and labels a small old quarry on the northwestern side of the road at SS 9624 3560. It appears to have been reused with an enclosed space depicted within it. [1] The feature is not shown on the Tithe Map for King's Brompton, with the field boundary instead drawn following the road edge here. [2] The 2nd Edition map once again shows the quarry slope and the enclosure but the feature is not labelled. [3] The 2018 MasterMap data shows the adjacent field boundary still curving around this area, but the site no longer includes the enclosure shown on the 1st or 2nd Edition maps. The original area has been subdivided into two. [4]
