Full Description

The Cutcombe Tithe Map shows a group of buildings centred around SS 9039 4003. The northeastern area (SS 9041 4004) is labelled 774 and the southwestern area (SS 9039 4002) is labelled 773; a single small linear parcel to the southeast (SS 9044 4001) is labelled 772. The Apportionment describes the site as follows: South Langham;Owned by the Honorable Philip Pleydell Bouverie, occupied by William Thomas- 772: A Garden (Garden) 773: Barn Bartons etc Little Langham; Owned by Samuel White, occupied by James Sage- 774: House Bartons etc. [1] The 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map shows the site has been altered, with the loss of some of the buildings in both parts and the reorganisation of the remaining space, including the loss of the garden plot 772. The southwest part of the site (previously named South Langham) is now labelled "Higher Langham" but the northeastern section is still labelled "Little Langham". [2] The 2nd Edition map shows no change since the 1st Edition map was produced. [3] The 2018 MasterMap data shows that much of the site is still in a similar layout as shown on the 2nd Edition map, save that the buildings to the southwest (SS 9037 4002) have either been altered or demolished and rebuilt.
