Full Description

The Tithe Map for Upton depicts a rectangular building abutting the field boundary at SS 9920 3100, adjacent to a small enclosed treed area at SS 9919 3099. These are part of a small land parcel labelled 19, which the accompanying Apportionment describes as "Venne: Court Linhay and Plantation", owned and occupied by Silas Wood Blake esq. [1] The linhay and plantation had been removed by the time the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map was surveyed and the small land parcel was subsumed into the larger area to the west. [2]
