Full Description

The Kentisbury Tithe Map shows this as a blank area of Kentisbury Down. [1] The 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map shows an earthwork at SS6305 4382, in a semicircular area of rough pasture and furze abutting a field boundary. [2] The earthwork is shown on the 2nd Edition map, although it is no longer depicted within the area of rough pasture. [3] The feature is not depicted on modern MasterMap data. [4] The site is one of eight possible quarried depressions noted by McDonnell on aerial photographs in this area. [5-7]
