Full Description

A memorial tree was planted on Winsford Recreation Field to The Rt Hon Ernest Bevin, wartime Minister of Labour, British Foreign Secretary 1945-1951, architect of NATO and world statesman, on the centenary of his birth in Winsford in 1981. It was planted by Trade Union leader Jack Jones. [1] The precise location of the tree in the Recreation Ground is not known. [2]
