Full Description

The Tithe Map for Parracombe shows two buildings, the larger at c. SS 6545 4579 and the smaller at c. SS 6546 4580. They are within a small group of enclosures, labelled 762 and 761. The accompanying apportionment describes 761 as "Garden" and 762 as "Houses & Courtlages", both owned and occupied by Richard Dovell, who also possessed much of the surrounding area. [1] The buildings had been cleared by the time the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map was surveyed, however, the enclosures for the buildings and garden have apparently been largely preserved. [2-4]
