Full Description

The 1839 Tithe Map for Parracombe shows a long building fronting Church Lane to the north. [1] By the time the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map was created, the building now labelled Ivy Cottage was in place. This, together with a further structure (or group of boundaries) to its east, may incorporate elements of the original building on the Tithe Map. It is not clear if the original building was reduced in size or simply demolished and rebuilt at a smaller scale. The eastern structure/ boundaries appear to have been removed at some time after the 2nd Edition map was surveyed. [2-4]
