Full Description

The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Lanacombe, which included this site. Noted was an oval mound c. 4 metres long by 3 metres wide, coinciding with a distinct vegetation change. The feature may be a prehistoric clearance cairn, although it may also have a natural origin.
