MEM23229 - Possible prehistoric clearance cairn on Lanacombe (Monument)

Full Description
The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Lanacombe, which included this site. Noted was a circular mound of diameter c. 2.5 metres, coinciding with distinct vegetation change. It’s make up is stony though none is visible on the surface. The feature is possibly a prehistoric clearance cairn, but may also have a natural origin. [1]
