Full Description

A post-medieval 'smithy' was visible on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. This was no longer annotated on the 2nd Edition map. It is not certain which structure the annotated on the 1st Edition map referred to, so the monument point has been placed on the most likely building. It appears that two blacksmiths were in operation in Porlock at the time; the other smithy (MEM22208) was still in operation after this one was abandoned. [1, 2]
