MEM22605 - Post-medieval peat cutting on The Chains (Monument)

A recent circular peat scar or cutting was noted during a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on The Chains, undertaken by South West Archaeology as part of the Exmoor Mires Project. The mineral soil is visible. Noted was a circular peat scar or cutting, with the mineral soil visible. This is possibly a peat cutting feature.
