Full Description

This is probably upcast from an adjacent drainage ditch and is thought to be post-medieval in date. [1] The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on The Chains, which included this site. Noted was a small mound measuring 1.5 metres by 1.5 metres, with a height of 0.3 metres. This is likely upcast from an adjacent drainage ditch. [2]
