Full Description

The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non-intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Spooners, which included this site. A relatively well defined linear depression orientated northeast to southwest at 90 degrees to the slope was noted. It is up to c. 10 metres wide and is 0.3 metres deep. It is best interpreted as a holloway of unknown date. [1]
