An earthwork platform in Culbone Wood is probably the remains of a charcoal burning platform. The date of the earthwork is uncertain.

Full Description

A charcoal burning platform in Culbone Wood, approximately 430 metres to the north of Twitchen. The platform is circa 5 metres long and 2 metres wide. The rear edge of the platform is slumped but is still cut into the hillslope by about 0.8 metres. The front, downslope edge is built up to a height of circa 0.7 metres and forms part of the slope.
