Full Description

The Manor of Wilmersham was recorded in the Domesday Census as having five subsidiary farms, Poole, East and West Lucott, Littlecombe and Buckethole are the most likely. [1] The farm is labelled on the tithe map as 'Late Arnolds'. [2] The 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps shows the farm with the name Wilmersham in a much altered layout, suggesting the original buildings may have been demolished and the new farm built between 1841 and c.1890. The buildings are mostly shown on these maps in the layout that still exists on the site. [3-5]
