MDE8999 - Possible undated circular enclosure on Holdstone Down (Monument)
Summary
A circular enclosure was noted on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1978 and thought to be part of a field system. No evidence was found during field investigation in 1993.

Full Description
Low broad banks suggesting part of a circular enclosure, with a possible entrance on the south side, were noted at SS 62524783 on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1978. [1-3] No field evidence in the area of the National Grid Reference cited. [5] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [6]
