Several rectilinear depressions separated by bulks: possible peat cutting area, but needs detailed survey. Mentioned in 1821 estate survey: rights for pit turves from Soakey Moor. [1] A study of the archaeology and history of peat exploitation on Exmoor’s moorlands provides additional background on the practice and sites. [2]
