Full Description

Shaft F, Florence Mine. Visible as a depression in the ground. [1] This 'shaft' and the other depressions near it (some shown on the plan in Dixon P.264 [1]) are seen by Bowman as evidence of the collapse of extensive stopes underground. [2] The air shaft is depicted and labelled on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. [3]
