Full Description

The 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map and the six inch 1962 maps label and depict two small "Old Quarries" at SS 7953 3082 and SS 7956 3082. The easternmost is shown on the 1st Edition map with trees growing within it. [1-3] The site was visited in June 1992. The remains of a stone quarry were noted with a large pile of stones in the adjacent field north of the quarry. [4] The westernmost quarry is depicted but not annotated on 2016 MasterMap data. [5]
