MDE20300 - Possible barrow or natural mound on Ilkerton Ridge (Monument)
Please read the caveat document.
Type and Period (2)
- None recorded
Grinsell noted a bowl barrow (his number 7a) in this location with a diameter of five paces and a height 305.0mm. A visit by the Ordnance Survey in 1974 noted that numerous mounds similar to this one are of solid peat and appear to be natural. It is not clear whether this record should be incorporated with MDE1287 and if the latter discusses this site.
