Summary

A Bronze Age burial cairn, 17 metres in diameter and 0.7 metres high, has been subject to disturbance. There is no visible indication of a surrounding ditch.

Full Description

The southernmost of two barrows on the northeast of Barcombe Down is visible on aerial photographs dating to 1977, at c. SS 7643 3184. [1-3] A Bronze Age cairn measuring 17 metres in diameter and 0.7 metres high. It is generally flat topped but has been subject to disturbance. There is no visible indication of a surrounding ditch. [4] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [5]
