MDE13259 - Undated mound on North Molton Ridge (Monument)

Summary

A low mound was noted during field investigation in 1995. It is 5 metres in diameter and 0.4 metres high and of uncertain date and purpose.

Full Description

A low, dome shaped mound is centred at SS 7761 3282 in rough heathland on the north facing slope of North Molton Ridge overlooking Darlick Moors. The mound measures 5 metres north to south and 5.1 metres east to west, and is 0.4 metres high. It does not contain a large proportion of stone and there is no visible ditch. There are no other diagnostic features to suggest a clear classification or date.
