Description

A new survey of five cairns located on the summit of Dunkery Beacon in Somerset was undertaken in August 2004 by the EH Archaeological survey team. The purpose of the survey was to record the state and condition of the cairns in advance of a planning application by the owners,The National Trust, to cover some of the cairns. Damage to the cairns is being caused by visitor pressure.
