SS93NE LUXBOROUGH CP SS9851 373 LUXBOROUGH VILLAGE 11/77 Unidentified chest tomb in churchyard, about 12 metres south of nave, Church of St Mary - GV II Chest tomb. Late C15-early C16. Local stone, squared and coursed. Monolithic slab with steeply chamfered cornice, tomb sunk almost to cornice, inset panel with heraldic device at east end, strongly carved with illegible description visible, appears to be in good condition below the soil. Forms a pair with similar tomb to north. Rare survival of an early tomb. Listing NGR: SS9738038004
