MSO9272 - Post-medieval buildings south of Combeshead (Monument)

Banks and possibly the remains of two buildings approximately 250 metres southeast of Combeshead Farm were noted on aerial photographs. These were suggested to be a deserted farm site. [1,2] A series of deserted buildings were identified to the south of Combeshead. Three small banked or walled features, which may relate to these buildings were identified and plotted during the Brendon Hills Mapping Project. [2,3] The buildings do not appear on the 1st or 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. [4-5] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [6]
