MSO6973 - Bronze Age burial cairn west of Hoar Tor (Monument)

SS 7583 4301. The remains of a probable cairn situated about 410 metres above Ordnance Datum on the western slopes of Hoar Tor above the Farley Water. It is evident as a low turf covered mound, 3.8 metres in diameter and 0.2 metres is maximum height; it is best preserved around the northwest where the edge is well defined. No kerb is apparent. In its prominent isolated position this is most probably the remains of a sepulchral cairn.
