MSO6803 - Meolithic macehead found near Emmett's Grange (Find Spot)

A macehead was found, and identified on H.St.G. Gray's map, as being located southeast of Emmett's Grange. [1] A perforated stone macehead from Simonsbath (SS 77 39) was donated to Taunton Castle Museum by R. Haddon in 1966-9; Accession number 66.A.68. [2, 3] As well as the monument point at SS 7550 3661, this record had an additional monument point at SS 77 39, which was deleted as the original source and more specific national grid reference are most likely to be correct. [4] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [5]
