Summary

A post-medieval deer park southwest of Upton Farm, implied by "Park" field names on the Tithe Map of 1839. The area is annotated "Deerpark" on the Ordnance Survey 6 inch map of 1962.

Full Description

"Park" field names in field to the south of Upton Farm on the tithe map, at the eastern end of Haddon Hill. [1] "Deer park" printed on Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division 6 inch map on south side of river in Upton and Brompton Regis parishes. [2] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [3]
