Numbers 1 and 2 Bilbower House, High Street, Dulverton is a pair of late 18th - early 19th century houses in row. The right hand house was partly rebuilt in the late 19th Century. [1] This building is marked as 'Bilbba House' on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. [2] 'Bilboa House' was a doctor's residence. [3] In 1739, a fire engine and 12 buckets were purchased, and are believed to have been housed behind Bilbao House. [5] Bilbower, originally Bilboa, was a doctor's premises for most of the 19th century. [6] The buildings were visited in February 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. They received a BAR score of 6. [7] The building is mentioned in the 2019 Conservation Area Appraisal for Dulverton. [8]
