Full Description
Chest tomb. Late C15-early C16. Local stone, squared and coursed. Monolithic slab with steeply chamfered cornice, tomb sunk almost to cornice, inset panel with heraldic device at east end, strongly carved with illegible description visible, appears to be in good condition below the soil. Forms a pair with similar tomb to north. Rare survival of an early tomb. [1] English Heritage Listed Building Number: 265360. First Listed on 05/06/1985. [2] Stone walls. [3] The tomb was visited in June 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 3A. [4]
