Full Description

A small circular mound is visible on aerial photographs as a slight earthwork lying immediately south of the larger barrows on North Molton. Centred on high ground at SS 7786 3244, the mound measures some 14 metres across. Its precise date and function are uncertain, but given its proximity to the larger barrows it is possibly the remains of a Bronze Age funerary monument such as a cairn. Further examination is required to confirm this interpretation.
