Full Description

The earthwork remains of a field boundary of possible medieval date is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards, centred on circa SS 9417 4199, 240 metres to the west of Well Farm, Timberscombe parish. The relict possible boundary is visible for circa 150 metres, although it probably continues to the northwest but in a form too diffuse to transcribe. At its widest point it is up to 10 metres across, but this may be evidence of spreading after it passed out of use. It also can be seen to be cut by several narrow ditches, most of which appear to be part of a field gutter system of probable 19th century date.
