MMO1934 - Medieval and post-medieval field boundaries east of Manor Farm (Monument)

Three small lengths of relict field boundary are visible on aerial photographs as earthworks to the east of Manor Farm, Cheriton, Brendon parish, centred on circa SS 7394 4675. The northernmost earthwork, centred on SS 7393 4680, is up to 9 metres wide and approaching 50 metres in length. It is probably a relict extension of the extant curvilinear boundary to the south, of probable medieval origin. The two southern earthworks are much narrower and more regular in appearance and are probably post-medieval subdivisions of the earlier field system.
