Full Description

The Tithe Map for Cutcombe depicts a group of buildings centred at SS 9221 3852. A further group is shown directly to the south under separate ownership (recorded as MEM24672). These buildings are labelled 523, with a small enclosure to the southeast at SS 9223 3852 labelled 523a. The Tithe Apportionment document states these are part of North Weddon, owned and occupied by Thomas Crockford, with 523 labelled "House Bartons etc" and 523a "Calves Plot". N.B. The farmhouse is recorded separately as MSO10553. [1,2] The site is shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map and labelled North Wheddon Farm. The farmhouse had been enlarged (see MSO10553) and a small building had been constructed to the west. [3] It remains unchanged on the 2nd Edition map. [4] The 2018 MasperMap data shows further development at the western end of the site. [5]
