Full Description

Substantial remains of a quarry are situated to the south of the proposed location for the standing stones on Room Hill. The quarry has two smaller pits and banks either side of one deep subrectangular steep sided pit (roughly 15 metres by 15 metres), with some spoil banks towards the southwest near the road. Vague outlines of the quarry are also visible on the 1st and 2nd edition Ordnance Survey maps of the area, suggesting an earlier date of use. [1-3]
