Full Description

The Tithe Map for Carhampton shows a pond at ST 0165 3930. [1] By the time the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map was surveyed, the original pond appears to have been removed and two further ponds are shown to the southwest, at ST 0161 3921 and ST 0163 3926. They do, however, appear to be the result of the same water supply. [2] Modern MasterMap data shows that the pond at ST 0163 3926 is still extant. The pond to the south (upstream) is no longer depicted, although the data does show issues and sinks in this location. [3]
