Full Description

A guide post is marked on modern MasterMap data. [1] The signpost was visited in September 2015 and its condition assessed. It has SCC (Somerset County Council) repeated on the four sides of a pyramid finial. The attached fingers read: BAMPTON 4 3/4 SOUTH MOLTON 15 3/4 B3222 DULVERTON 1/4 B3222 TAUNTON 24 3/4 EXETER 26 B3222 HAWKRIDGE 4 3/4 OLDWAYS END 3 1/4. [2] A design for a name collar for the signpost ("Andrews Hill Cross") dating from 1997 is included as an image in a publication on Exmoor's traditional fingerposts. [3] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in February 2024. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [4]
