MEM22641 - Undated surface stones on The Chains (Non-antiquity)

Five stones were visible during field investigation in 2012. These are located within the general area of scattered surface stone (MEM22649) and are probably of natural origin.

Full Description

Five stones were noted during a non intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on The Chains, undertaken by South West Archaeology as part of the Exmoor Mires Project. These are located within an area of scattered stone (MEM22649). [1] The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on The Chains, which included this site. Noted were five stones located within an area of scattered surface stone (MEM22649) which are probably all natural in origin. [2]
