Full Description

A large scale metric survey of an area of earthworks on Halscombe was undertaken by Hazel Riley in 2013 as part of the Exmoor Mires Project. A shallow linear hollow was surveyed, oriented northwest-southeast. It is 42 metres long, 3 metres wide and 0.75 metres deep. This is a drainage ditch and its orientation and location suggest that it may be associated with the nearby peat cutting MEM22582. [1]
