Full Description

A 'Pound' is marked on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map, and a building is still marked at this location on the 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map. [1-2] The path running along the River Barle at this location is called 'Pound Walk'. [3] The shelter at the Recreation Ground was once the cattle pound for stray animals. [4] The pound was previously on the east side of the river. [6]
