Full Description

SS 7600 4986. Remains of a linhay and yard shown on the 1839 Countisbury Tithe Map [1] and on the 1888 Ordnance survey map [2] to the north of Kipscombe Farm. The building, c. 12 metres by c. 5 metres, was observed during the survey by the National Trust in 2004. The stone rubble walls of the roofless building had almost completely collapsed. (1) Site of a small rectangular building c.15 metres by 8 metres is shown on 1880s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map across the field boundary. [2] The building is also depicted on the 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map, suggesting it fell out of use during the 20th Century. [3]
