Full Description

River Shaft at Bampfylde Mine. The shaft is shown on a section drawing of the site 1772, although it has been marked "h" in error when it is in fact "f". [1,2] The HER GIS mapping for this record had been placed at SS 739 326. This was misleadingly situated far to the south of the site, whereas the map mentioned above suggests the shaft is just to the east of the River Mole. The mapping for this record has therefore been moved, although the exact location of the features is still not clear. [1,3]
