MDE20811 - Possible prehistoric enclosure on Ilkerton Ridge (Monument)

A low broad bank forming a fairly large circular enclosure with possible entrance on the west side and possibly containing two possible hut circles was seen on aerial photographs but was not visible during later field investigation.

SS7196 4409. The area indicated by McDonnell falls on fairly steep north facing slopes, generally heather and rough grass covered but predominantly bracken at time of visit. No trace was found of this alleged enclosed settlement.
