MDE20556 - Ranscombe Combe, Martinhoe (Building)

Building remains in a group of small derelict enclosures, possibly a deserted farm site. The Ordnance Survey records this as "Ranscombe Combe". Shows well on aerial photographs dating to 1977. [1,2] Building remains in a group of small derelict enclosures, possibly a deserted farm site. [3] Ranscombe Combe is shown on the Tithe Map for Martinhoe at SS 6866 4631 as a building. It is also depicted and labelled on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map with a smaller outbuilding at SS 6866 4632. [4,5] The main building still appears to be extant and has the same name as shown on the 1st Edition map. The site has been extended with further buildings to the north and southwest and ponds to the east and southeast. It is not clear from the information provided by sources [2] and [3] if the building became derelict in the interim and has since been renovated. [6]
